Book review: He who fights with monsters 13

I’ve finished reading/listening the latest entry for the he who fights with monsters 13. It’s a long one just like the other entries and I’ve liked the story overall.

The best thing for me to say about this book is that it’s a cozy reading. You can relate to the characters that by this points feel like characters you know deeply. It’s been decades since it all started in GreenStone.

The plot isn’t too complex, but it still leaves you wondering for what is coming next. And oh boy, does it keep adding small hooks throughout the chapters that eventually lead to it’s ending and the preparation for Jason’s next big thing. When I finished reading, that was exactly what I felt. Like this was a book with a proper story but it was also serving up as the preparation for the big plot. Hinted at for the last couple ones.

It’s funny how a story can take 13 entries, span decades and still feel like it was just yesterday that Jason found himself in a new world.
